The ratgdo32 disco uses an adjustable VSCEL laser sensor to detect vehicle presence.
- Mount the ratgdo32 disco. The clip has 3 different holes in it for orientation in virtually any direction. Our magnetic baseplates can also be used to mount your disco—there are holes for the mast, or the clip can still be used.
- Aim the sensor at a painted surface of your car, such as the hood or roof. Avoid aiming it at the windshield, glass sunroof, or canvas, as these materials absorb light.
- For best results, position the sensor so that it is within 1 to 5 feet from the vehicle when parked.
- Open the ESP Home web UI and check the live measured distance to ensure a reliable reading.
- Adjust the
Vehicle distance targetvalue so that it is approximately 200mm greater than theVehicle distance actualvalue when the car is parked.
Optional Parking Assistance: If you purchased the optional parking assistance laser, the red dot laser housing can be aimed independently of the VSCEL sensor to help you park perfectly every time. Aim the laser at a specific location on your vehicle that you can see when pulling in. We find that the trailing edge of the dashboard works well.
